On February 4, the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin, who completes his mission in Armenia.
At the beginning of the meeting the NA President thanked Mr Mariyasin for cooperation and the joint programmes implemented in different spheres.
During the meeting they have touched upon the partnership between the Parliament of Armenia and the UNDP, which is aimed at the development of the institutional capabilities of the National Assembly.
The Resident Representative of the UNDP in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin expressed his gratitude to the NA President for the effective cooperation with the RA NA during his tenure. He also talked about the different programmes carried out by the UNDP in Armenia.
The President of the National Assembly referred to the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, its grave consequences, considering of priority the issue of quick return of the Armenian prisoners of war and the captivated persons. The Speaker of the Parliament also highlighted the urgent overcoming of other humanitarian problems emerged as a consequence of war and the active involvement of the international colleagues in it.
At the end of the meeting the NA President Ararat Mirzoyan wished Dmitry Mariyasin new successes in his further activities.
